Client: Howdens Joinery
Brief: Howdens regularly reward and motivated staff with events both in Britain and Europe, they were looking for a summer event for their head office which was fresh and exciting and unlike anything they had done before.
Event: Outside tailored the Castle Treasure Hunt programme to suit the objective for 45 participants. A giant aerial map signposted 20 different activities that could be completed to accrue points. Activities include dropping ‘bombs’ from a zip wire, crate stack, operating a crane whilst blindfolded, compass navigation trail, giant puzzles and high ropes. The evening was spent in the Ger tented village just above the venue on the side of the Malvern Hills where the participants enjoyed the wilderness cookery programme and slept the night.
Day 2 was a mix of Castle Siege and Fevertree and the participants could choose which activities they wanted to take part in.
Kevin Thomas MD of Howdens said: "The whole event was a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and try new things as well as a chance to find out a little more about ourselves and each other!"
Employees' views:
"The activities were well organised, sufficiently challenging and different to previous experiences"
"The wilderness cookery was the surprise package for me and was about 17 times more successful than I thought it was going to be!"
"It was awesome – more fun than I thought possible! Probably the most 'team building' event we did"
